 UNICEF has selected Hallmark Cards, Inc. as the exclusive supplier for all UNICEF greeting cards sold in the United States. Founded in 1946 to help save, protect and improve the lives of children, UNICEF has saved the lives of more children than any organization in the world.
UNICEF has been raising funds from the sale of greeting cards since 1949. UNICEF's first greeting card was a painting by seven-year-old Jitka Samkova, whose village in Czechoslovakia received UNICEF emergency assistance following World War II. One industry that has made exponential cost-cutting gains through incentive use is health management. A Kiplinger Letter  article dated June 16, 2006, cites a study indicating that every dollar spent in preventive health management saves $3.50 in health care and approximately $5.80 in absenteeism.
The industry uses a variety of incentive tools, such as cash, deductions in health club memberships, and gift certificates and cards. Health management programs may include smoking cessation, prenatal care, and weight and stress management.
